6th Grade Faculty

  1. Laffin

    Nancy Laffin

    Reading
    Nancy Laffin has been teaching for 27 years and is one of the founding faculty members of the Academic Village Middle School.  Mrs. Laffin began her teaching career as a middle school ESE teacher.  Currently, Mrs. Laffin is the 6th grade Reading teacher.  She has a passion for all Disney and enjoys camping in Disney's Fort Wilderness.  Mrs. Laffin holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from University of Massachusetts Amherst.

  2. Rebecca Lewis

    Rebecca Lewis

    Language Arts
    Rebecca Lewis has been teaching since 2013 and is one of the founding faculty members of the Academic Village Middle School.  Ms. Lewis began her teaching career as a middle school Language Arts teacher and has worked closely with ESE, Gifted, and ESOL students.  Currently, Ms. Lewis is the 6th grade Language Arts teacher.  She has a passion for art and enjoys reading mystery novels.  Ms. Lewis has a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Education from Florida Atlantic University.  In addition, Ms. Lewis is working Ph.D. candidate at her alma mater with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction in Multicultural Education.

  3. Carly Mautner

    Carly Mautner

    Math
    Carly Mautner has been teaching since 2011 and is one of the founding faculty members of the Academic Village Middle School.  Ms. Mautner began her teaching career as a 5th grade Math & Reading teacher. Currently, Ms. Mautner is the 6th grade Math teacher.  She has a passion for fishing and excels in tournaments.

  4. Mitat

    Lismey Mitat

    US History
    Lismey Mitat has been teaching since 2005 and is one of the founding faculty members of the Academic Village Middle School.  Ms. Mitat began her teaching career as a high school Social Studies teacher in Miami-Dade County.  Currently, Ms. Mitat is the 6th grade US History teacher. She has a passion for anything "funny" and is the self-proclaimed "Meme Queen."   Ms. Mitat holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies Education from Florida International University.

  5. Rodriguez

    Elizabeth Rodriguez

    Science
    Elizabeth Rodriguez began her journey in education at the Academic Village Middle School in Spring 2016.  Currently, Ms. Rodriguez is the 6th grade Science teacher.  In addition, she is the sponsor for the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) and Science Club. She loves attending concerts and has been playing piano for the last 20 years.  Ms. Rodriguez graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Florida.
