Jeana Diaz
Language Arts & ReadingJeana Diaz has been teaching since 2004 and began her journey at the Academic Village Middle School in Fall 2015. Mrs. Diaz began her teaching career as an elementary school teacher in Miami-Dade County. Currently, Ms. Diaz is the 6th grade Reading and Critical Thinking Skills Teacher. Besides enjoying her experience at charter, Mrs. Diaz loves to spend time with her husband and two girls. Mrs. Diaz holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Master's Degree in Reading from Barry University.

Lauren Hindmarsh
MathLauren Hindmarsh started her journey in education in 2008 and joined our sister elementary campus - FSU - in 2016. In 2020, we welcomed Ms. Hindmarsh to our Academic Village Campus as our 6th grade math teacher. Ms. Hindmarsh graduated from Florida Atlantic University in 2008 with her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. When she's not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her son, Bryson, as well as family and friends. She also enjoys practicing yoga, doing outdoor activities, and traveling.

Dan Capiro
US HistoryMr. Capiro began his teaching career with the Pembroke Pines Charter School System in 2013. He currently teaches 6th grade US History. He is proud of his unique teaching style which incorporates a witty interpretation of current and past events, this helps to keep his history class interesting and entertaining. During his spare time, Mr. Capiro enjoys traveling anywhere and everywhere with his wife and two kids, Dylan and Caitlin. He also enjoys hunting for new additions to his die-cast model collection. Mr. Capiro holds a Bachelor's degree from Florida International University and is currently working on his Master's degree in Educational Leadership.

Jill Ezzell
ScienceJill Ezzell began her journey with our Pembroke Pines Charter School System with the opening of the FSU campus in 2003. She taught 1st grade at our FSU Campus before starting her adventure at the village in January of 2022. Currently, Mrs. Ezzell is the 6th grade Science teacher. Prior to joining our system, she taught in Broward County at Riverglades Elementary. She has a passion for baking and books and loves to spend time with her husband, two girls - Kaylee and Kendall, and her dog Oliver. Mrs. Ezzell graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Florida Atlantic University and earned her National Board certification in 2007.

Giselle Urizarri
Language Arts & YearbookGiselle Urizarri has been teaching since 2004 and began her career teaching elementary students in Broward County. She began her journey at Charter in Fall 2017. Currently, Mrs. Urizarri is the 7th grade English teacher. She is also the Yearbook Sponsor, working diligently with her students throughout the year to ensure our school memories are preserved. Mrs. Urizarri's biggest accomplishment is being a mom to her two children, Mia & Max. Mrs. Urizarri holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Master's in Reading from Barry University.
