Attendance, Tardy, and Early Sign-Out Information
ATTENDANCE PROCEDURES
Reporting an Absence or Tardy
To report an absence or tardy, please complete the Google Form linked below.
- Absences: Submit the form within two (2) school days of the absence.
- Tardies: Submit the form within 24 hours of the tardy. STUDENT MUST HAVE CHECKED IN/ARRIVED TO SCHOOL BEFORE A TARDY CAN BE EXCUSED. Do not complete the form until a child has check in/arrived.
The form must be completed in full, including all required information, in order for the absence or tardy to be excused.
Important Attendance Information
- Submit only ONE Google form per absence/tardy.
- Updates will appear in Focus within 3–5 school days.
- Check your student’s Focus account to confirm updates.
- Attendance Discrepancies in a specific period entered by the students teacher contact the teacher directly via email.
- Duplicate forms, calls, or emails may delay processing.
Early Sign-Out for Student Drivers
If a student driver needs to leave campus early independent, the parent/guardian must:
- Email hsattendance@pinescharter.net
- Please include the following in the subject line: EARLY SIGN-OUT
- Include name of student,
- Student's first and last name
- Student's 06 number
- Grade
- Date and time of early dismissal
- Method of transportation (driving self, Uber, etc.)
- Parent/guardian contact number for verification
Important:
- The attendance office must verify the email with the parent/guardian before the student is released.
- The student must visit the front office in between classes to confirm that the email has been received and verified before checking out and leaving campus.
- The office will not call students out of class.
- It's recommended to submit early sign out emails as early as possible to ensure verification and student release is done in a timely manner.
NO STUDENTS WILL BE RELEASED AFTER 1:30PM.
Limit:
- A maximum of three (3) early sign-outs via email per semester is permitted.
- After the third, a parent/guardian must physically sign the student on at the front office window.
Extended Absences (3 or More Days)
If a student will be absent for three or more consecutive days, a Request for Absence Form must be completed and emailed to the attendance coordinator for administrative approval.
