On Tuesday, March 28th the Jaguars hosted their annual Senior Night against district rival Boyd Anderson. The seniors who celebrated were Christopher Nappi, Mason Feldman, Lenford Powell, Julian Barceló, Luis Palacio, William Wormsbecher, Anthony Bombadiere and Antonio Peetoom. Before the game started the players and families gathered on the field for a pre-game ceremony showing the gratitude for each senior. The parents of each senior player wrote a nice letter that was read by the junior announcer Jordan Montero. As the families joined the players to walk on the field the team’s booster club made senior banners to dedicate the rest of the season towards them. The banners will be hanged on the bleachers behind the third base dugout for fans to see as they come and watch the games.
The Jaguars went on to win the game 10-0 led by Senior Julian Barceló’s three-run home run to secure the win. “It was definitely a nice experience, the boys have always messed with me on why I hadn’t hit a home run up until yesterday, but it was special that my first one came on senior night. It felt nice,” said senior Julian Barceló. On the pitching side of things seniors Antonio Peetoom and Anthony Bombadiere both combined for 12 strikeouts in the shutout win over the Cobras.
