Today's Announcements
· Our annual PPCHS Talent Show will be held Today Friday, 1/25 at 7pm. Pick up your tickets during A & B lunch this week. Cost is $2. Hope to see you there!
· Attention Class of 2020! The time for the junior class ring ceremony has arrived! On January 29, 2019, juniors who ordered class rings are invited to attend the ceremony with family at the River of Grass theater.
· Jaguars! Are you interested in taking a stand and walking in solidarity with Muslim women around the world? On Thursday January 31st, 2019, Muslim Student Association will be having it's very first World Hijab Day Walk-a-thon on the football field from 6-8:30 PM. The event will have henna tables, hijab tutorials, food, and more, so bring all your friends! Admission at the gate is $3, and admission is $2 during presale, starting Thursday, January 24th during lunches. Proceeds from the event will go towards funding education for refugee children. See you there!
· The next book discussion will be about The Hate U Give which was recently out in theaters. We will meet on Mon., Feb. 11th during A&B lunches to talk about the book over pizza and such. Please sign up on the school website and pick up your book either in S225 on Thursday and Friday mornings during homeroom or after school until 3 in the Media Center.
· The Zodiac Villain is on the loose! Come and solve the case of the 20th century during Rho Kappa's second annual Mystery Dinner, which will take place in the cafeteria at 2:30 on February 15th. During A and B lunch, normal admission tickets will be sold for $5 from January 23rd to February 1st, and late admission tickets will sold for $6 from February 4th to 8th. We hope to see you there!
· Students- show your appreciation for friends, teachers, or a special someone by purchasing a rose for Valentine's Day! The Class of 2020 will be selling the roses for $2 each during A and B lunch. Presale will be from Monday, January 28th- Friday, February 1st.
· Don't forget to enter this year's PPCHS POETRY CONTEST! There are 14 different types of poems being accepted, from free verse and spoken word to rhymed verse, villanelles, and sonnets. Please see the literary events board outside of D203 for details and formatting requirements. Entries are due to Ms. Sarah Phelps by Thursday, January 31st. Winners, who will receive $10 gift cards and represent PPCHS in the 2019 Broward County Literary Fair, will be announced at the annual NEHS Poetry Slam on February 6th in the Library Auditorium!
· SNHS is hosting its annual Child Net drive. We are collecting school supplies for foster children. Please donate new or gently used back packs, and school supplies. The drive ends Feb 15th. Winning HR gets a breakfast party. Turn in supplies to the box located in your HR.
· The Health and Fitness club is selling 6 time use/buy one get one free cards on smoothies from Jamba Juice for $10. Purchase your card from room C210.
· There will be a First Priority Meeting on Monday - don’t forget to attend in room D210. We meet every Monday! Can’t wait to see you there!
· Herff Jones will be on campus 1/30 for Seniors to place their Cap/Gown Package orders during A & B Lunch. After this date you can continue to order online at www.hjbroward.com
· We all procrastinate from time to time, but it’s time to take control – join the time management club! All grade levels are invited to participate starting Tuesday, February 5th during homeroom in U113. Sign up at the Guidance Front desk. We hope to see you there.
· Students, having trouble in your math class and need some extra help? Then don't forget that Mu Alpha Theta holds tutoring sessions after school in room U205 every Wednesday for all math subjects! We hope to see you there!
