Today's Announcements
· Today is Water Conservation Wednesday, so SGA is encouraging all teachers and students to help conserve water by reducing food waste, showering with less water, turning off the faucet when brushing your teeth, using less electricity, and so many other ways. Water is the most important substance to sustain life, so then let’s all work together to ensure the worlds future generations will enjoy a healthier life.
· In front of a loud, packed gym, the jaguar boys basketball team dominated West Broward by a score of 74 to 34. The jags were led by Jeff Sprouse, JT Debuck, Liam O’prey, Chichi Amarachi, Nick Bailey, DeAndre Daniel, and Kishon Moore.
The team is very thankful for the tremendous support and hopes to see a big turn out when the jags play Flanagan at home this Thursday.
· Any students interested in participating in the Battle of the Books competition on Tues., April 16th is to contact Shanon Chorzelewski in the Media Center by Friday, December 14th
· The SHS Comparte Por Una Vida Drive has collected 566 boxes of pasta thus far to send to Venezuela next week! Mrs. Morales's class is in the lead with 180 boxes! The drive will end this Friday, December 14th. We have surpassed our 500 boxes goal but we won't stop there! Don't forget to bring in your pasta and do your part, Jag!!
· Class of 2022 - class shirts are on sale until this Friday, December 14. Shirts are $12 for short sleeve and $15 for long sleeve. You can pre-order your shirts in room U211 during homeroom or after school.
· “Hey Jags, SGA and KG4 Club are having our 10th annual toy drive to collect new unwrapped toys for ages 0-17. Donate all toys to your homeroom teacher and the class with the most items will win a holiday-themed party! All toys are being donated to the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and the Covenant House Florida.”
· Hey jags, the CHAT's biggest issue of the year is out! The annual holiday issue features many holiday-spirited stories, from gift guides and Christmas recipes to events like Winter Fantasy. So put your holiday spirit to use and check it out! Happy Holidays jags from the CHAT staff!
· The class of 2022 and the Rhythms Club are selling holiday candy grams during both A and B lunches until 12/13. Candy grams will be $1 plus an additional $1 if you want to upgrade to a candy carol. Come support the freshman class and Rhythms Club and share holiday spirit with your friends!
· Promote equality and support PPCHS’ Girl Power club by purchasing a shirt and/or a water bottle during lunch! Shirts are $15 and water bottles are $6.
· Attention all Creative Jags! Are you interested in sharing your poetry, creative writing, or songs with others? Are you interested in being part of a rap duo? Come to OUTLOUD's festive HOLIDAY meeting on Thursday, December 13th at 2:10 p.m. in D210. Food will be served & we hope to see you there! :))
· The Southwest Regional Library is looking for student volunteers to help out with their Polar Express event next Wednesday, December 19th from 4:30-7:30. You can earn 3 hours for your time. Please see the Youth Services desk for information. Space is limited to only 15 volunteers! So sign up today!
