Today's Announcements

· Hey Jags! Come out to the Snowbowl Dodgeball Tournament taking place in the gym today December 11th, at 2:30 pm! Audience members can pay at the door for $3!

· In celebration of Environmental Week, today is Turn off the lights Tuesday. We encourage all teachers and students to participate in turning off your classroom lights during homeroom for 10 minutes, in effort to minimize ours school carbon foot print. Turning off fluorescent lights for more than 5 seconds will save more energy than will be consumed in turning them back on again. So help conserve energy and turn off the lights!

· The jaguar boys basketball team defeated Cypress Bay by a score of 54 - 47. The jags were led by Chichi Amarachi, Liam O’Prey, DeAndre Daniel, Geoff Sprouse, Nicholas Bailey and JT Debuck. The jags will host West Broward tonight. JV at 6 PM with the varsity game to follow. West Broward will bring a record of 6 - 1 and a big following so let’s show our support tonight in the jaguar gym.

· Any students interested in participating in the Battle of the Books competition on Tues., April 16th is to contact Shanon Chorzelewski in the Media Center by Friday, December 14th

· The SHS Comparte Por Una Vida Drive has currently collected 274 boxes of pasta to send to Venezuela! Mrs. Lutchi’s class is in the lead! The drive will continue until December 14th... Please help us reach our 500 boxes goal!

· Class of 2022 - class shirts are on sale until this Friday, December 14. Shirts are $12 for short sleeve and $15 for long sleeve. You can pre-order your shirts in room U211 during homeroom or after school.

· “Hey Jags, SGA and KG4 Club are having our 10th annual toy drive to collect new unwrapped toys for ages 0-17. Donate all toys to your homeroom teacher and the class with the most items will win a holiday-themed party! All toys are being donated to the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and the Covenant House Florida.”

· Hey jags, the CHAT's biggest issue of the year is out! The annual holiday issue features many holiday-spirited stories, from gift guides and Christmas recipes to events like Winter Fantasy. So put your holiday spirit to use and check it out! Happy Holidays jags from the CHAT staff!

· The class of 2022 and the Rhythms Club are selling holiday candy grams during both A and B lunches until 12/13. Candy grams will be $1 plus an additional $1 if you want to upgrade to a candy carol. Come support the freshman class and Rhythms Club and share holiday spirit with your friends!

· Promote equality and support PPCHS’ Girl Power club by purchasing a shirt and/or a water bottle during lunch! Shirts are $15 and water bottles are $6.

· Attention all Creative Jags! Are you interested in sharing your poetry, creative writing, or songs with others? Are you interested in being part of a rap duo? Come to OUTLOUD's festive HOLIDAY meeting on Thursday, December 13th at 2:10 p.m. in D210. Food will be served & we hope to see you there! :))

· The Southwest Regional Library is looking for student volunteers to help out with their Polar Express event next Wednesday, December 19th from 4:30-7:30. You can earn 3 hours for your time. Please see the Youth Services desk for information. Space is limited to only 15 volunteers! So sign up today!

· STUDENTS! Don’t forget that NHS sponsors after school tutoring every Monday in room D214 at 2:05 PM. See you there!

· Science Tutoring for Biology, Chemistry and Physics takes place every Friday in S122 during HR
